How to Use This Resource

Database Layout

The database is organized according to eight key components of a teacher evaluation system. Within each component, the information is divided into topics, and then further divided into questions. The diagram below illustrates the organization of the database for Component 8: System Evaluation. To interactively explore the organization of each component, select Browse the Components from the Contents menu on the right.

Gathering Information From the Database

The tools on this website allow users to retrieve information from the database in several different ways. The questions that follow describe three ways a user can gather information from the database to meet their specific needs. For each option, the website produces a printable PDF containing the information requested by the user.

  1. Are you looking for comprehensive information on one to three states?
    • Select Comprehensive Comparison.
    • Choose your state(s) and click Submit.
    • Download a printable PDF containing data for all eight components for the state(s).

  2. Are you looking for specific information on a single state?
    • Select Browse the Components and use the expandable list of components, topics, and questions to identify which component and topic has the information you need.
    • Select Single Topic Comparison from the Contents menu on the right.
    • Choose the component and topic you need, select your state, and click Submit.
    • Download a printable PDF containing all the state’s information on the topic selected.

  3. Do you want to compare specific information across multiple states?
    • Select Browse the Components and use the expandable list of components, topics, and questions to identify which component and topic has the information you need.
    • Select Single Topic Comparison from the Contents menu on the right.
    • Choose the component and topic you need, select the states you want to compare, and click Submit.
    • Download a printable PDF comparing the information for your chosen states on the topic selected.
