Product Description
The results of parent and student surveys administered across the Denver Public School District are available on this website. These surveys have been used in past years to inform decisions about the retention of principals in the Denver Public School District. A new principal evaluation system will be piloted in January 2012, which may or may not include these or other surveys.

The link provided includes student survey results for Grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The questions on these surveys address teacher effectiveness, school safety, and school discipline; one question directly refers to the principal and concerns parent visitation. The number of questions in the surveys varies depending on grade level (students in Grades 3-5 have a 17-question survey; students in Grades 6-8 have a 41-question survey; and high school students have a 43-question survey).

Parents complete a 38-question survey. Two questions directly concern the principal, including whether he or she is a strong leader and the parents’ level of comfort in speaking to the principal. Other questions concern academic growth; environment cleanliness; teachers and staff; appropriate discipline; and sharing information on bullying, college, English language learners, and general information.

No information is provided as to the validation of these instruments.
