Product Description
The Northwest Territories Student and Parent Surveys explore dimensions of school leadership, principal evaluation, principal professional growth planning, and review process. Sample surveys are provided through the website, and parent and student surveys are located in Appendix 3. The surveys consist of four dimensions: stewardship, instructional leadership, relationships, and organizational culture. The four domains are derived from the Northwest Territories standards for school leadership.

The parent/guardian survey has 21 questions, concerning the frequency of parents’ feelings and events. For example, “In general, I am happy with the operation of the school” and “Staff at the school will explain school programs and how the school is organized.” The 19-question student survey asks students to rate the frequency of items: all the time, many times, sometimes, few times, at no time. No research regarding the validity or reliability of the survey(s) is currently available, though the survey constructs align with the Ethical Dimensions of School Leadership.
